Two wall-hung TVs provide news and entertainment. This seating area leads to a 24x29 Back Dining Area that features four private Booths, eight tables and chairs for 36 diners. Because many smaller birds won't cross bodies of water if they cannot see land on the other side, the chain of islands extending from Michigan's Garden Peninsula to Wisconsin's Door Peninsula, allows birds to work their way south down the Peninsula, then "island hop" to Wisconsin - making it great for viewing the birds migrating up the peninsula in the spring, and down in the fall! In the late 1860s a smelting plant site, named Fayette, was built on the Peninsula. After the plant closed the State of Michigan purchased and restored the "ghost" town, naming it the Fayette State Park. It attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year resulting in a growing tourism industry. Farming, commercial fishing, logging, and tourism are all part of the areas current economic backbone.
