Puerto Rico Ranch is a premiere South Texas hunting ranch located on the north and east sides of FM 1017 approximately 6.5 miles east of San Isidro, Texas in Hidalgo County. It has broken frontage on the north and east sides of FM 1017, and frontage on the west side of Puerto Rico Road and the south side of La Reforma Road. There are three gated entrances along FM 1017, one along La Reforma Road, and one along Puerto Rico Road. Primary access is from FM 1017 by way of an asphalt surfaced road. The entire perimeter is 8-foot game fenced and there are good caliche roads throughout the ranch from oil and gas leasehold improvements. The ranch is located approximately 25 minutes from the Edinburg airport.

 

The property is equipped with 5 water wells with submersible pumps and 2 windmills. Water is provided throughout the ranch via a network of underground pvc water lines. There are two man-made ponds present on the property and several concrete water troughs located throughout the ranch.

 

The topography is gently undulating, and elevations range from about 205 to 225 above seal level. The vegetative cover is mostly native brush and some re-growth, that is fairly thick, and much of it is mesquite and huisache trees, along with the lower scrub brush including granjeno, cat claw, sage, and Spanish yucca, just to name a few.

 

Puerto Rico Ranch is dense with native game including turkey, dove, quail, trophy whitetail deer, and more. The previous owner also stocked the ranch with exotic game such as blackbuck antelope. There are multiple blinds, corn and protein feeders scattered throughout the property. Hunting potential is considered to be above average on this property.

 

There are ample accommodations on the ranch, including a 2,313 sq. ft. main lodge, a 434 sq. ft. bunk house with detached restrooms building, and an 832 sq. ft. foremans house. The is also adequate equipment storage and shop space, including a 10,000 sq. ft. equipment bar, a 728 sq. ft shop with attached shed space, and 6 additional metal shed structures. The entire ranch perimeter has 8-foot high game fencing and entrances have automatic gates and cattle guards. Additionally, there is a covered shooting station and two sets of livestock pens.
